High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The 100th Fighter Squadron flies the F-16C/D Fighting Falcon. It is a unit of the Alabama Air National Guard. Its parent unit is the 187th Fighter Wing. It was activated in 2007 in Alabama to replace the 160th Fighter Squadron so the state could honor the sacrifices of the Tuskegee Airmen. The 100th was one of the Tuskegee Airmen squadrons during World War II. It flew combat missions in the European Theater of Operations and the Mediterranean Theater of Operations from, 19 February 1944-26 April 1945. It trained in P-47 Thunderbolt aircraft between 1947 and 1949 and flew air refueling missions from, 1955-1965.
