The 1933 Outer Banks Hurricane was the twelfth tropical storm, fifth hurricane and fourth major hurricane of the very active 1933 Atlantic hurricane season. A tropical storm formed on 8 September 1933 and moved along a similar track to that of the 1933 Chesapeake-Potomac Hurricane. The hurricane reached a peak intensity of 120 knots (220 km/h; 140 mph) before weakening and hitting the Outer Banks of North Carolina with a central pressure near 952 hectopascals (13.81 psi). The storm later turned northeastward and hit Nova Scotia.
