High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The 1958 German Grand Prix was a Formula One race held on 3 August 1958 at Nurburgring. To increase participation, the organizers opened the field to Formula 2 cars. The two races were run at the same time but the Formula 2 entries (shown in yellow) were not eligible for World Championship points and some sources don’t consider these starts in career stats. Peter Collins died after an accident on the 11th lap, as rival Tony Brooks went on to victory. The German Grand Prix (Grosser Preis von Deutschland) is an annual automobile race. Because Germany was banned from taking part in international events after World War II, the German GP only became part of the Formula One World Championship in 1951. It has been organized by AvD (Automobile Club of Germany) since 1926. The well-known ADAC hosts many other races, one of which has been the second F1 race in Germany at the Nurburgring, held there since 1995.
