The first tropical cyclone of the 1960 Atlantic hurricane season, the storm developed on June 22 from an area of disturbed weather in the southern Bay of Campeche. Further intensification occurred, and system strengthened into a tropical storm on June 23. Later that day, the storm made landfall south of Corpus Christi, Texas. The storm rapidly weakened to a tropical depression after moving inland. The storm tracked northeastward and reached Illinois before dissipating early on June 29.
