High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The 1968 German Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at the Nurburgring on August 4, 1968. It was the eighth round of the 1968 Formula One season. The race was held in extremely wet conditions. Jackie Stewart's winning drive during the rain and fog while driving with a broken wrist is considered as one of the finest ever, as he won by a margin of four minutes. The German Grand Prix (Grosser Preis von Deutschland) is an annual automobile race. Because Germany was banned from taking part in international events after World War II, the German GP only became part of the Formula One World Championship in 1951. It has been organized by AvD (Automobile Club of Germany) since 1926. The well- known ADAC hosts many other races, one of which has been the second F1 race in Germany at the Nurburgring, held there since 1995.
