The 1999 Exxon Superflo 12 Hours of Sebring was the 47th running of the 12 Hours of Sebring. It also served as the first event in the new American Le Mans Series, which had replaced the IMSA GT Championship as the International Motor Sports Association's premiere series. It took place at Sebring International Raceway, Florida, on March 20, 1999. The 12 Hours of Sebring is an annual motorsport endurance race held at Sebring International Raceway, a former Army Air Force base in Sebring, Florida. The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron (ALMS) is a sports car racing series based in the United States and Canada. It consists of a series of endurance and sprint races, and was created in the spirit of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Teams compete in one of four classes: LMP and LMPC Le Mans Prototypes, and GT2 and GTC Grand Touring cars. Race lengths vary from 1 hour, 40 minutes to 12 hours.
