The 2004 edition of the FIFA Futsal World Championship was held between November 21 and December 5 in the Republic of China (Taiwan) (officially "Chinese Taipei" for political reasons). It was the fifth World Championship held under the aegis of football`s world governing body. The venues were National Taiwan University Sports Center in Taipei City and Linkou Gymnasium in Taipei County (now New Taipei City).
