This season competition was sponsored by Biola which became the title sponsor of the League for the season. It began on July 17, 2007, and ended on May 18, 2008. 16 teams participated in the competition, 14 of which contested in the 2006-07 season, and two of which (Zakarpattia Uzhhorod and Naftovyk-Ukrnafta Okhtyrka) were promoted from the Ukrainian First League (the league immediately below the Ukrainian Premier League).
