The Grizzlies were led by second-year head coach Robin Pflugrad and played their home games at Washington–Grizzly Stadium. They are a member of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 11–3, 7–1 in Big Sky play win a share of the conference championship with Montana State. They received the conference`s automatic bid into the FCS playoffs where they defeated Central Arkansas in the second round and Northern Iowa in the quarterfinals before falling to Sam Houston State in the semifinals.
