The team`s head coach is Mark Gottfried, in his second season at NC State after posting a 24–13 record in first season, where the Wolfpack finished fifth in the ACC. The Wolfpack also received a bid to the 2012 NCAA Division I Men`s Basketball Tournament, which was its first since 2006.
