The film is based on Ruskin Bond`s short story Susanna`s Seven Husbands, and features several male leads in the roles of the husbands. Naseeruddin Shah plays the oldest husband, Neil Nitin Mukesh as the youngest husband, and John Abraham, Irrfan Khan, Annu Kapoor and Russian actor Aleksandr Dyachenko play the others. The seventh husband is a mystery that the viewer will find at the end of the film. Susanna (Priyanka Chopra) is a femme fatale who goes on to kill all her husbands.
