Joseph Conrad was a Polish-British writer regarded as one of the greatest novelists to write in the English language. Though he did not speak English fluently until his twenties, he was a master prose stylist who brought a non-English sensibility into English literature. A Set of Six II contains three stories including An Anarchista, Il Condea and The Duel, both satiric and deeply sad tale about two officers in Napoleon`s Grand Army who, under a futile pretext, fought an on-going series of duels throughout the Napoleonic Wars.
