Late in life he witnessed the relative ease of his father, the founder of the Baha'i Faith, in the last decade of his life, was himself appointed head of the religion, and was then suddenly freed at the age of 64 by the ramifications of the Young Turk Revolution in 1908. During 1909 he saw to the early phase of the erection of the Shrine of the Bab and entombment of its occupants, and in 1910 transitioned his family residence to Haifa, near to the Shrine of the Bab.
