It is found in Europe in woodland and gardens. The wingspan is 12-17 mm. The moth flies from June to September from dusk onwards. The main foodplants are field maple (Acer campestre) and sycamore (A. pseudoplatanus), while the larvae can also be found on Norway maple (Acer platanoides). Tortricidae is a family of moths in the order Lepidoptera. They are commonly known as tortrix moths. It is a large family with over 9,400 species described, and is the sole member of the superfamily Tortricoidea. Many of these are economically important pests. Olethreutidae is a junior synonym.
