High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Adrenergic means "having to do with adrenaline (epinephrine) and/or noradrenaline (norepinephrine)".The adrenergic receptors (or adrenoceptors) are a class of G protein-coupled receptors that are targets of the catecholamines, especially noradrenaline (norepinephrine) and adrenaline (epinephrine). Although dopamine is a catecholamine, its receptors are in a different category. The norepinephrine transporter or NET (or noradrenaline transporter (NAT)) is a monoamine transporter that transports the neurotransmitters norepinephrine (noradrenaline) and dopamine from the synapse back to its vesicles for storage until later use. NET is 617 amino acids in length, contains 12 transmembrane domains, and is encoded by the SLC6A2 gene.
