It is found in Angola, Benin, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, and Yemen. Its natural habitats are dry savanna, subarctic shrubland, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, caves, and hot deserts. It is threatened by habitat loss.
