Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Agena is an interpreted procedural programming language, designed to be used in scientific, educational, linguistic, graphical, and other applications, including scripting. Its syntax resembles very simplified Algol 68 with elements taken from Maple, Lua, and SQL. The implementation is based on the ANSI C sources of Lua 5.1. Agena has been named after Beta Centauri, the second brightest star in the constellation Centaurus, and the Agena unmanned target vehicle used in the 1960s in NASA's Gemini missions.
