Akala (Kingslee James Daley), born December 1983, is a British rap and hip hop artist from the Kentish Town / Queen's Crescent area of Camden, north west London. He is the younger brother of the singer Ms. Dynamite. Akala was born in Merton and raised in Hampstead. Akala's parents were both involved in showbusiness: his Canadian (of Scottish descent) father, Ray Cameron, was the producer, writer and director of The Kenny Everett Television Show and his mother, Kati, was a dancer. Akala's parents divorced when he was seven, after which Cameron remarried and moved to Los Angeles. Cameron died of a heart attack when Akala was 17.
