Alexander Sergeevich Stolbov (June 5, 1929, Vyatka, USSR) - a Soviet Russian painter and Art teacher, living and working in Leningrad - Saint Petersburg, member of the Saint Petersburg Union of Artists (before 1992 Leningrad branch of Union of Artists of Russian Federation), regarded as one of the inmates and brightest representatives of the Leningrad school of painting, most famous for his portrait paintings. Alexander Sergeevich Stolbov was born June 5, 1929 in Vyatka, USSR. In 1958 Alexander Stolbov graduated from Ilya Repin Institute in Josef Serebrany workshop. Pupil of Vasily Sokolov, Valery Pimenov, Vitaly Valtsev, Boris Lavrenko, Boris Kharchenko. Since 1959 Alexander Stolbov has participated in Art Exhibitions. He paint portraits, genre scenes, landscapes, still lifes. Personal Exhibitions in Leningrad (1982), Pskov (1988).
