Kersh is a fictional character in the American Fox television series The X-Files, a science fiction series about a government conspiracy to hide or deny the truth of Alien existence. Kersh was introduced in the sixth season opener, "The Beginning" as an Assistant Director at the FBI. The character was portrayed by American actor, James Pickens, Jr.. Federal Bureau of Investigation Deputy Director Kersh made a total of six appearances in the sixth season, the last appearance being "One Son".
