In November 2010 Sampson will host the IF Awards in Sydney, which are to be broadcast on SBS TV. Sampson was born in Sydney, Australia. A former professional Rugby Union player with Wests, Sampson studied medicine, hotel management and Spanish. He was educated at the Trinity Grammar School in Sydney and The Armidale School in northern New South Wales. He is also a trained copywriter, graduating from the AWARD School in 2002.
