The project was launched in 2004, and the code is licensed under the GPL.ANts P2P encrypts all data sent or received from others and proxies traffic between participants in the network (between the source node and the destination node). This is called endpoint encryption. Theoretically, endpoint encryption means proxy nodes cannot identify the data they proxy. So this can make it harder to determine the originating IP addresses.
