APEMoST (Automated Parameter Estimation and Model Selection Toolkit) is a computer software for the Bayesian analysis of statistical models using Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods. It was developed for the physical sciences. APEMoST allows the fast computation of Bayesian evidence for physical models, and comparison thereof (Model selection). The computation is done by Metropolis updates, where the step widths are calibrated and/or adaptive. The model has to be expressed by implementing a C routine (the likelihood method). This routine also has access to a data matrix which makes it easy to assess physical models of observational data.
