High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Arctostaphylos pilosula is a species of manzanita known by the common names La Panza manzanita and Santa Margarita manzanita. It is endemic to California, where it is known only from the coastal mountains of San Luis Obispo County, especially near Santa Margarita, and one occurrence in southern Monterey County. It grows in the chaparral. This is a bristly shrub growing between one and two meters tall. The leaves are rounded to oval and dull and hairless in texture. They are up to 3 centimeters long. The shrub blooms in spherical inflorescences of cone-shaped manzanita flowers, each just under a centimeter long. The fruit is a reddish brown drupe about a centimeter wide.
