At the end of the 2005 racing season her owner group, which included trainer Todd Pletcher, Paul Saylor, Johns Martin, and Mr. Mrs. Jack Wolf, sold her at the Keeneland Sales November auction for $9 million, a world-record price for a broodmare/broodmare prospect. Ashado was retired to broodmare duty at her new owner`s Jonabell Farm in Lexington, Kentucky.
