The Audi V8 is a large luxury four-door, five-seat saloon (sedan), built by AUDI AG at its Neckarsulm plant in Germany from October 1988 to November 1993, as the company's range-topping flagship model. It was the first car from the Audi marque to use its namesake engine configuration - a V8 engine. It was replaced by the Audi A8 in 1994, though the A8 would not be sold in North America until the 1997 model year.
