The Bahamas enjoys a warm temperate climate that hardly varies throughout the year, thanks to the archipelago`s gentle trade winds. The months between September and May are fresher with temperatures averaging between 70-75 degrees Farenheit (21-24 degrees Celsius), while the summer tends to be warmer and more humid with temperatures between 80-85 degrees Farenheit (21 -24 degrees Celsius). On the more northerly islands winter temperatures are around five degrees lower than on the southern islands while at night, temperatures are around five to seven degrees cooler across all the islands. It can rain at any time during the year, though the official rainy season is May to October. The northern islands generally experience twice as much rain as the southern islands with heavy storms or squalls which quickly clear. From June to November is hurricane season when the islands can be affected by tropical storms and high winds.
