Basildon Park is a country house situated in the English county of Berkshire, between the villages of Upper Basildon and Lower Basildon and near the town of Reading. It is owned by the National Trust and is a Grade I listed building.In 1656, the Basildon estate was purchased by Countess of Bath for use by her six-year-old brother, Henry Fane. A mansion house was built here around this time, possibly by Fane's father, Colonel George Fane.The estate was the home of the Viscounts Fane for just over one hundred years.
