It is part of the Parkersburg-Marietta-Vienna, WV-OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,282 at the 2000 census. The village is named after Beverly, Massachusetts. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.0 km ), of which, 0.7 square miles (1.9 km ) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km ) of it is water. The total area is 7.69% water. Beverly is located by the Muskingum River. State Routes 60, 83, and 339 converge at Beverly.
