Pink bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella; PBW) is a major cotton pest in the world. PBW infestation causes a noticeable decrease in average cotton production every year. Pesticides are the main stay, used by the farmers to control pests. Chemicals are a challenge for agricultural entomologists, who are trying to prevent environmental pollution. Resistance, emergence of secondary pests, health hazards, ground water contamination and production cost increases are all byproducts of excess pesticide use. One way of reducing pesticide use in agricultural production is, use of biological control organisms. To get maximum benefit from biological control of insects in cotton, farmers should establish insect natural enemies in their fields with minimum use of selective insecticides that have least impact on bio organisms. PBW has a number of parasitoids and predators, but they are not established in cotton eco-system. TRICHOGRAMMATOIDEA BACTRAE is one of the efficient egg parasitoids of PBW. This book will be help full to the processional, farmers and researchers, who are working on organic farming, to learn mass rearing, storing and field release methodology of said parasitoid.
