High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! BIRD is an open source implementation of a TCP/IP routing daemon for Unix like systems. It was developed as a school project at the Faculty of Maths and Physics, Charles University, Prague, with major contributions from Martin Mares, Pavel Machek and Ondrej Filip. It is distributed under the GNU General Public License. BIRD supports both IPv4 and IPv6, multiple routing tables, and a BGP, RIP and OSPF routing protocols, as well as statically defined routes.
