He made his acting debut with an American accent in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Tim Burton. Blair plays the young Willy Wonka, a child under strict rule by his father, a dentist, Dr. Wilbur Wonka. He is three days older than his Charlie co- star Freddie Highmore. Blair was also on an English television show called Rocket Man, supposedly based on a nineteenth century railway engineer. Blair played a character named Caleb McNulty for two episodes. He is a keen football fan and regularly attends matches of Tottenham Hotspur, Fiorentina and Real Betis. His favourite player is former Real Betis and current Al-Jazira striker Rafael Sobis
