Bleach originally sold a mere 30,000 copies, but following the enormous success of the band's second album, Nevermind, fans discovered Nirvana's obscure debut. It has since been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, making it one of only two albums released on Sub Pop to have received platinum certification, selling over 1.7 million copies in the U.S. according to Nielson SoundScan. Worldwide, the album has sold over 4 million copies. The 20th Anniversary re-release, which included a bonus live disc, was released on November 3, 2009.
