Blues Anytime I: An Anthology of British Blues is a compilation album of British blues songs released in Japan in 2006 by JVC. The album was issued on CD in a mini LP sleeve with an obi strip. The album combines two 1968 compilation albums that were originally assembled by Immediate Records: Blues Anytime Vol. 1: An Anthology of British Blues and Blues Anytime Vol. 2: An Anthology of British Blues. The 2006 Japanese release does not have "Vol." in the title and uses the Roman numeral "I" instead of an Arabic numeral. The front cover album artwork is the same as that on Blues Anytime Vol. 1 except for the text, since the album titles differ slightly. The Immediate Records logo even appears in the lower left corner of the cover. Blues is the name given to both a musical form and a music genre created primarily within the African-American communities in the Deep South of the United States at the end of the 19th century from spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts and chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads.
