Robert John Valentine (born May 13, 1950 in Stamford, Connecticut) is an American professional baseball manager and former player who will be announced as the next manager of the Boston Red Sox on December 1, 2011. He previously managed the Texas Rangers and New York Mets as well as the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan.
