The Brewster F2A Buffalo was an American fighter aircraft which saw limited service during World War II. In 1939, the F2A became the first monoplane fighter aircraft used by the US Navy. It was built in three significant variants for the US Navy, F2A-1, F2A-2, and F2A-3. In foreign service, with lower horsepower engines, these types were designated respectively, B-239, B-339, and B-339-23.
