High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! BRP Gregorio del Pilar (PF-15) is a Philippine Navy frigate and the lead ship of her class. She was the second ship of the Philippine Navy to be named after Gregorio del Pilar, a Filipino revolutionary general known for his role at the Battle of Tirad Pass. From 1967-2011, it was known as the USCGC Hamilton (WHEC-715) that served the United States Coast Guard. It was decommissioned on March 28, 2011 and was acquired by the Philippines under the Excess Defense Articles and the Foreign Assistance Act and it is expected to be one of the several ex-US Coast Guard Hamilton-class cutters to serve the Philippine Navy.
