It differs from the two other species in the genus in that it has some bisexual flowers present concurrent to the female flowers. It has a short spadix and the leaves are glaucous. It grows in its natural range at altitudes from 150 m (492 ft) to 200 m (656 ft) and flowers in December. It is typically found growing in clusters. The berries are possibly yellowish.
