The Carnegie Mellon School of Design in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States is a degree granting institution and a division of Carnegie Mellon University's College of Fine Arts. The School of Design offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in either industrial design or communication design. After entering the program, undergraduate students have two semesters to choose which option they prefer. Also offered are a Masters of Design degree in either interaction design or communication planning and information design, a Masters of Product Development degree, offered jointly by the School of Design and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and a Masters in Tangible Interaction Design [MTID], offered by the School of Architecture.
