With appearances in over 100 films, Durning's memorable roles include the crime drama Dog Day Afternoon (1975), and the comedies Tootsie and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (both 1982), the latter of which earned Durning an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor.
