Chetham's School of Music, familiarly known as "Chet's", is a specialist independent co- educational music school in Manchester city centre, in North West England. It was established in 1969 at Chetham's Hospital, an orphanage founded by Humphrey Chetham in 1653. The school now has 295 pupils, making it the largest music school in the UK, and the original buildings of the college, 1421, are still in use.
