Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Chingle Hall dates from around 1300. It is located in the township of Whittingham near Preston, England. It was originally built by the Singleton family and owned by them until Eleanor Singleton, the last of the line died in 1585. The house then passed to the Wall family through the marriage of William Wall with Anne Singleton. Their son Anthony Wall, once mayor of Preston, died there in 1601. The Walls owned the Hall until the mid 1700's when the house passed to a local branch of the Singleton family.
