High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The single overhead cam V6 introduced in 1993 was a major advancement for Chrysler. It was derived from Chrysler's first homegrown front-wheel drive V6, the Chrysler 3.3 engine, and remains in production today. The SOHC V6 is likely to be replaced by the Chrysler Pentastar engine by 2013. There are three major variants of this basic design. The smaller 3.3 L and 3.8 L are pushrod engines, while the 3.5 L, 3.2 L, and 4.0 L are overhead cam. Additionally, a 2.7 L DOHC version is also produced. Chrysler continues to produce the 3.5 L version of this engine along with the 2.7 L LH V6. This line is expanded further for 2006 with the addition of the 4.0 L engine debuting in the Dodge Nitro.
