High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Clapham High Street railway station is on the South London Line from London Victoria to London Bridge. It is close to Clapham North station but interchange on a single ticket is not allowed. It is operated by Southern trains. The next stations are Wandsworth Road to the west, towards Victoria and Denmark Hill to the east, towards London Bridge. Trains also run east to Brixton, but no trains stop at both Clapham High Street and Brixton (apart from occasional diversions). The station is unmanned. It was opened on 25 August 1862 by the London Chatham and Dover Railway as "Clapham and North Stockwell" with platforms on "Chatham lines" only. The London Brighton and South Coast Railway built and opened the present station and platforms on 1 May 1867. The line between Victoria and London Bridge was electrified at 750 volts overhead system on 1 December 1909.
