High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Clerodendrum is a genus of flowering plants in the family Lamiaceae. Its common names include glorybower, bagflower and bleeding-heart. It is a member of the subfamily Ajugoideae, one of four subfamilies transferred from Verbenaceae to Lamiaceae in the 1990s, based on phylogenetic analysis of morphological and molecular data. Lamiaceae or Labiatae, also known as the mint family, is a family of flowering plants. It had traditionally been considered closely related to Verbenaceae, but in the 1990s, phylogenetic studies showed that many genera classified in Verbenaceae belong instead in Lamiaceae. The currently accepted version of Verbenaceae may not be closer to Lamiaceae than some of the other families in the order Lamiales. It is not known which of the families in Lamiales is closest to Lamiaceae.
