Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Colchicum agrippinum is likely a hybrid, between C. variegatum and C. autumnale, and not a true species. The nomenclature of the genus is very muddled. This plant is considered one of the easiest of the Colchicum genus to grow. It's moderately tall, up to 6 inches (15 cm) and displays many flowers from a sinle corm. The flowers are produced in late summer and the foliage in the spring. The flowers have a distinct tessellation, or checker-board pattern, of pink and white and the anthers have purple tips. These traits help to identify it from other Colchicums.
