Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Computational RAM or C-RAM is random access memory with processing elements integrated into the design. This enables C-RAM to be used as a SIMD computer. It also can be used to more efficiently use memory bandwidth within a memory chip. Perhaps the most influential implementations of computational RAM came from The Berkeley IRAM Project. Random-access memory (RAM) is a form of computer data storage. Today, it takes the form of integrated circuits that allow stored data to be accessed in any order (i.e., at random). "Random" refers to the idea that any piece of data can be returned in a constant time, regardless of its physical location and whether it is related to the previous piece of data.
