Cox, the club`s founder. For three-year-olds and over, the race is considered to be the Weight for Age championship of Australasia. It is run over 2,040 metres (2,231 yards) on turf, and carries Australia`s richest weight-for-age prize of A$3 million. The plate is named for William Samuel Cox, who established the Moonee Valley Racecourse in 1883.
