The device was revealed by U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filings in July 2009.The Creative Zii was originally uncovered by Engadget on July 7, 2009. They uncovered an FCC filing with Zii and Zii EGG logos on a rectangular shaped product with a HD camera above it. The filings revealed connectivity through Wireless LAN and Bluetooth. Additionally, they revealed that the player would be touchscreen.
