High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Daniel Joseph Schmid (born November 22, 1962) is an American musician, known for his work as the bassist for the rock-ska-swing band the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, of which he is a co-founder, and the piano rock band The Visible Men. Schmid was majoring in architecture at the University of Oregon in the early 1980s when he befriended fellow student Steve Perry. Bonding over a shared passion for punk rock, the pair eventually decided to drop out of college together to pursue their musical aspirations, playing in the punk band The Jazz Greats in 1983 and the Paisley Underground-styled Saint Huck from 1984 to 1987 before forming what would eventually become the Cherry Poppin' Daddies in late 1988.
